Boreas Music - Independent Classical Records

Young Composer Competition 2008

The Ebor Singers are holding a Young Composer Competition offering an opportunity for composers between the ages of 16 and 25 in the north-east to write new choral works.  As well as cash prizes and music vouchers to be spent at OUP, Banks Music, and regional classical music stores, one composer will be appointed 'composer-in-residence' to the choir.

Short-listed pieces will be rehearsed, performed and recorded in relaxed sessions where composers will be able to discuss their pieces with fellow composers and the choir. All pieces will also be performed in a public concert, when the winners will be announced.

There is a small entry fee:  £5 for competitors still in school and £10 for all other competitors.

We hope you find all the information you need for submitting your composition.  If you have any other questions, then please contact us.  If you are aged between 16-18, click here.
